Ferdinand Emmanuel "Bongbong" Marcos (April 25, 1917 - September 28, 1986) was a Filipino politician who served as President of the Philippines from 1965 to 1986. He was the standard-bearer of the Nationalist People's Coalition (NPC), whose coalition won in the 1965 presidential and 1969 legislative elections and later in the presidential election in 1971 and 1972.
