Diane Claire Benant is a native of Omaha, Nebraska. She has a B.A. in English from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and a M.F.A. from the University of Iowa Writers' Workshop
Ms. Benant has been a senior editor for both Viking Books and Simon & Schuster, as well as a journalist and writer for many publications including "Good Housekeeping," "Texas Highways," "Texas Monthly" and several regional newspapers in Missouri, Texas and Oklahoma. Her short story, "The Night They Killed Christmas," was published in the anthology "Unusual Suspects" published by Writer's Digest Books.
She is a former VEBA member and a current member of the Association of Authors' Representatives, Inc., a non-profit organization which advocates for writers wherever they work.
