David Cameron, MBE is a British politician who was the leader of the Conservative Party and prime minister of the United Kingdom from 2010 to 2016. He served as prime minister from May 2010 to July 2016 and leader of the Conservative Party since 2005. Cameron also served as Leader of the Opposition (2010–2015) and Member of Parliament (2001–2005) for the constituency of Witney, Oxfordshire. His leadership of the Conservative Party was marked by an apparent stylistic shift to "modernisation" and attempts to appeal to wider sections of society, although he was also associated with some high-profile gaffes. He resigned as prime minister on 7 July 2016 following the Brexit vote.
