Danielle Monsch was born in Munich, Germany and grew up in a small town in Bavaria. She spent her childhood on a farm with her parents, two older sisters and a brother. After she finished high school, Monsch moved to Berlin where she attended fashion college (Fachhochschule für Mode und Design). She subsequently worked for several fashion labels and lived in New York City for four years. After returning to Berlin, Monsch studied public relations and worked as an assistant editor for a fashion magazine. She and her husband moved to Barcelona and later to Paris where they both started their own company, which is still running today.

Monsch then returned to Berlin where she lived for three years before embarking on the journey that led her to becoming an author of inspirational books for women around the world. Monsch can be found as a speaker on women's empowerment topics as well as on the subject of personal growth and self-development. Her recent book, Understanding Passion: The Psychology of Imbuing Your Life with Meaning, became a best-seller in Germany and France after it was published in March 2013. Her first English book, Growing and Learning: The Psychology of Passion, was published by Perigee/Penguin in February 2013.
