He did not graduate from high school because of his focus on music. He did however earn an associate degree in business management from City College of San Francisco (CCSF). When Inglish was 15 years old he began to rap. He went to the house of his cousin, who had a demo tape player, and recorded his first song "I'm A Thug" on that tape; the song was then passed around his neighborhood.

He got into trouble with the law for selling marijuana when he was 17 years old. After serving seven months in prison for selling drugs he decided to pursue music professionally. He went on to release his debut studio album "Life Is Good" on September 18, 2005 through Geffen Records; the album peaked at number 166 on the "Billboard 200".

At that time Inglish began working with fellow Bay Area-based rappers Big Hutch and Murs. In January 2007, Inglish appeared on Big Hutch's single "The Motion", which appeared on Big Hutch's album "Cats & Dogs". The song peaked at number 6 on the Billboard Rap Songs chart. Inglish's second studio album "Word of Mouf", features production from Bay Area native 9th Wonder, alongside Bay Area up-and-coming artists such as E-40 and Mistah F.A.B., among others.

Another guest appearance is made by fellow Bay Area artist Too $hort on the song "My Niggas." All tracks are produced by Inglish himself except where noted above. Inglish released a mixtape titled "The Return Of A Kid Like This" in November 2007 under his own label IngIsh Entertainment LLC. The mixtape featured guest appearances by E-40, Too Short, Mistah F.A., Messy Marv and more.
