Cheong Yip Seng (樟桐 千聖) is a Singaporean author who graduated from the Ngee Ann Polytechnic with a degree in architecture. He was the chief editor of the Singapore-based newspaper, The New Paper, from 1986 to 1994. In 2005, he published his first novel, The Third Wife, which was translated into German and French. His second novel, The Boat Driver's Son, was published in 2008 and has been translated into French and German
In 2009, Cheong was awarded the President's Literary Award for a First Work of Fiction by The National Arts Council Singapore. Cheong Yip Seng lives in Singapore and is married with three children. He is a member of Singapore Writers' Society and Singapore Literary Society.
