The Baha'i International Community is an independent, international religious community of world peace headquartered in Haifa, Israel. Its purpose is to enable the peaceful unification of its followers on earth under one common set of principles which are derived from the sacred writings of the Baha'i Faith. The teachings are based on the revelations of Baha'u'llah, who was appointed by his friend and teacher, the founder of the Faith, the Bab. These teachings are symbolized by a set of nine principles called the Bab's Kitab-i-Aqdas
