Asse Sauga is a writer, filmmaker and photographer. He was born in the South of France and was raised in Europe and the United States, where he spent his formative years before returning to France to study at the Sorbonne. He started his career as an actor in French television, before moving on to writing for various French magazines. At the age of 37, he moved to Los Angeles, where he wrote for various publications while continuing his film career
He also became a screenwriter for several TV series. His first book, The Magnificent Obsession, was published in 2011. It tells the story of how he became obsessed with the science fiction film series Star Wars, which resulted in him writing his second book, Star Wars: The Magnificent Obsession.
On July 25th 2016, Sauga was invited by Lucasfilm Ltd. to attend the premiere of Star Wars: The Last Jedi in London.
