Andrew Ryan was born in 1864. He was an inventor and scientific researcher, and a pioneer in the field of radio communication. In 1902 he founded the Radio Corporation of America (RCA) in New York City with Thomas Edison. The two men formed a partnership where RCA was run by management and Edison ran the research and development side of the company. The company would later be known as General Electric before being sold to GE in 1986
