He is the author of two poetry collections, God Loves the Stranger (Copper Canyon Press, 2008), and The State of Our Union Is Death (Coffee House Press, 2011). He has edited two anthologies of poetry, The Best American Poetry 2008 (Random House) and The Best American Poetry 2012 (Random House). His short fiction has appeared in numerous literary journals and magazines, including The New Yorker
