Adam Levine (born March 18, 1979) is an American musician and one of the lead singers and co-founders of Maroon 5. Born in Los Angeles, California, Levine began his musical career as a member of the pop rock band Kara's Flowers in 1998. He later joined the boy band Ohev (aka Maroon 5), which relaunched with a heavy rock sound in 2002 and featured lead singer Jesse Carmichael. Since then they have released three more albums: It Won't Be Soon Before Long (2007), Hands All Over (2009) and V (2012).
Maroon 5 has experienced several changes over the years. In 2007, guitarist James Valentine left the band and was replaced by Matt Flynn. In 2008, keyboardist Matt Flynn was replaced by Mickey Madden, formerly of The Matrix and A Rocket to the Moon.
On January 12, 2012 it was announced that guitarist James Valentine returned to Maroon 5 after a two-year hiatus.
Levine was raised Jewish but attended Hebrew school only sporadically during childhood. He currently practices Transcendental Meditation every day, something he credits with helping him stay grounded throughout his life. He also enjoys playing golf and tennis with friends on his spare time.
