A.A. Bell was born in Clifton, New Jersey, and attended Yale University. Bell was the founder of the Bell Organization, a national advertising agency founded in 1947. He was also president of Bell & Company, Inc., Bell Advertising Inc., Bell-McCormick Agency, Inc., and Bell & Carlson Advertising Agency
Bell was also the author of numerous popular books on advertising. Bell's other hobbies included golf and skiing.
